Manila Mayor Joseph E. Estrada received support from some 40 members of the Asenso Manilenyo, the political party headed by Vice Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, in an oathtaking rites held at the Bulwagang Villegas at Manila City Hall yesterday.
Estrada said he will file his certificate of candidacy for mayor of Manila on Wednesday, Oct. 14, with Shiela Honey Lacuna-Pangan as his vice-mayoralty candidate. He also said he is supporting the candidacy for senator of Vice Mayor Isko Moreno.
In a talk with reporters, Estrada said he has some more ongoing projects in Manila and he would like to see these through, the reason why he is seeking reelection.
Running against Estrada are Alfredo Lim and Amado Bagatsing, in a three-way political fight.
Among the projects in the pipeline are the joint venture arrangements for the modernization and upgrading of the public markets, the Manila Zoo, construction of school buildings and classrooms, construction of roads, etc.
